Where we are
We are blessed to be situated in one of the most beautiful buildings in the center of Florence, the Palazzo Galletti — a historic neoclassical building designed by the architect Vittorio Bellini in 1831, just a few minutes’ walk from Piazza Duomo and Piazza Santa Croce.
The exterior of our floor accommodates four marble statues symbolizing the four seasons, the symbol of the building. Inside, a three-story staircase with a marble balustrade and majestic, adorned Ionic columns completes the entryway.
📍 Location
Palazzo Galletti, Via Sant’Egidio 12, Florence — 2nd floor
A few minutes’ walk from Piazza Duomo and Piazza Santa Croce.
♿ Accessibility
Our school is equipped to welcome people with disabilities. As the building is historic and on the second floor without an elevator, our measures are limited: we have a stairclimber and have made classroom adjustments. If informed in advance, we can arrange external classrooms for a fully accessible experience.

Our method
Our teaching method revolves first and foremost around practice, which, accompanied by grammar and rules of the language, allows our students to immediately experience the pleasure of advancing towards proficiency.
👥 Group size
Usually 5–6 students per course — minimum 4, maximum 12. Small enough to get real attention, large enough to learn from each other.
🏫 In-person lessons
Our face-to-face classes alternate between practice and theory, with games, role plays, and interactive activities that make learning engaging and effective.
🖥️ Online lessons
Online courses take place on our interactive platform, designed to replicate the energy of a live classroom and keep students engaged throughout.
📖 Learning materials
We have developed our own interactive exercise books, complete with audio, video, and multimedia content — available to all our students.
Our quality standards
Our quality system is built on regional, national, and European recognitions, as well as concrete commitments that ensure transparency, excellence, and continuous innovation.
📋 Stable & qualified teachers
90% of classes are taught by teachers on permanent contracts. Almost all hold a master’s degree and the DITALS certification.
✦ Erasmus+ accreditation
Our Erasmus+ accreditation allows our teachers to attend professional development courses abroad every year, in addition to the in-house training sessions we regularly organise in Florence.
✅ Certified ISO 9001:2015 & UNI 11863:2022
We adhere to international standards for training quality and are members of ASILS, the association of Italian language schools for foreigners.
🌐 Europass Network
Our Italian Language School laid the groundwork for Europass Teacher Academy, the international network of high-quality teacher training chosen by more than 5,000 European schools every year, and the newly established Europass Foundation ETS.

Our history
●
1976
The small Vittorio Alfieri Institute, specializing in tutoring and evening classes for Italians, was founded in the same building where we remain today.
●
1992
Three teachers take over the school, changing its name to Europass European Study Centre to emphasize its international character. The school is run entirely by teachers. ●
2006
The school obtains accreditation as a Vocational Training Center from the Ministry of Education, specializing in professional development courses for Italian teachers and is structured as an Italian school for foreigners. For the first time, a teacher takes on a coordinating role, a non-teaching role.
●
2010
Launch of the first Erasmus course for teachers in Florence, creating Europass Teacher Academy, a network combining Europe’s best academies for teacher training, chosen by 5,000 schools a year. From Florence, all this network and the quality of the courses offered in over 300 vocational training courses in 30 European cities are still managed.
●
2018
The school changes its name to Europass Italian Language School, with an even more international focus.
●
2020
Following COVID, online courses are enjoying great success, and Europass is becoming the first Italian school for foreigners for online courses. Europass’ online courses are still the most followed today.
